A Study on the Social Participation of the Parents of the Delinquent and Non-Delinquent Teenagers on School Affairs

چکیده

This research studies the social participation of the parents of delinquent and non-delinquent teenagers on the school affairs in Tehran comparatively. Hirchie's theory of social control were accepted as research framework in the paper. The survey method were used and all the high-school students from the age of 15 to 18 in the district of 4 and 15 in Tehran were chosen. About 60 delinquent and 60 non-delinquent teenagers were selected in the research. The results show that there is a significant difference between family commitment and social norms among the teenagers. According to the Hirchies' theory. However there is no difference on the school commitment between delinquent and non-delinquent teenagers.
