Simulation of the impact of high velocity impact of a cylindrical rigid object on a glass composite sheet and its comparison with an epoxy graphite composite sheet

چکیده

Glass composite is one of the methods of strengthening and repairing and strengthening various structures. In this type of composites, composite reinforcing fibers are glass fibers, which are compatible with a variety of matrices, including epoxy resin, vinyl ester resin, phenolic resin, etc. to form the composite. The advantages of glass fibers can be: Low price, high mechanical strength, high tensile strength, chemical stability, thermal resistance and also against corrosion. For this reason, these fibers have many applications in the aerospace، automotive and military industries. One of the most important applications of this type of fiber is in the structures of various types of flying objects. Therefore, in this study, the strength of E-type glass / epoxy sheet, the amount of energy up to the moment of rupture and also the greater amount of Mises stress applied to it due to the impact of a rigid body without a thickness of velocity 88 meters per second. Then, by applying the same ballistic limit conditions and changing the impactor to the target, it proceeded for a graphite / epoxy sheet and the results with the results obtained from the glass / epoxy sheet. To validate the results obtained from the simulated model in Abaqus, the amount of internal energy of the sheet, total energy and strain energy have been validated with the result simulated with Abacus finite element software (extracted from a related article).
