Behavior monitoring of Baft dam during construction and the end of dam intake using instrumentation and Plaxis software

چکیده

Installing accurate instruments and recording their behavior during construction and initial operation helps to evaluate the stability parameters of dams. The special importance of instrumentation in dams included their role in controlling the short and long term stability of dams. Behavioral investigation and long-term monitoring of dams are of special importance. In order to describe the behavior of the Baft Dam, the results of the Plaxis software implementation at the end of construction and at the end of dewatering were analyzed for stress and settlement values. Also, the results obtained were compared with the results of the Geostudio model and the precision instruments installed in the dam. The results show that the highest error percentage in the calculation of vertical stress in Plaxis software is 25.3 and in Geostudio software, it is 134.77. Also, stresses in general, the highest error percentage in plaxis software is much lower than the highest error percentage in the software. It was Geostudio and the amount of error in estimating the settlement at the end of the dam construction with plaxis software compared to the results of the instruments was equal to 1.78% and after dewatering the dam, this value was equal to 4.575%. Therefore, there is a relatively good agreement from the comparison of the results of the vertical stresses obtained with the results of the instrumentation at the end of construction. The numerical results of the settlement in the Paxis software are close to the precision instruments used in the construction of the dam.
