Examining the opinions of Iranian Muslim sages and the Islamic religion about light and the possibility of using it in contemporary Iranian architectural philosophy

چکیده

Light is one of the fundamental foundations of Iranian sages' thought. Both in pre-Islamic thought in Iran and in the thought of Iranian Muslim sages, the subject of light has been considered. The impact of this issue can also be observed in Iranian architecture throughout history. Especially after Islam, the closeness of the mystical views of Iranians to the wisdom of architecture caused the prominent role of light in Iranian architecture. This article aims to examine the opinions of Iranian Muslim sages about light and think about the possibility of using this philosophical-judgmental support in the production of architectural philosophy for contemporary architecture. In this research, the Qur'an is first examined as an important source through library studies. Then the opinions of thinkers are reviewed (descriptive method). Then the elements of Iranian architecture that are clearly related to the presence of light in architecture will be discussed (analytical method). And in the end and summing up, considering the significant contemporaneity of the developments of thought and wisdom in Iran with the major architectural developments and styles of the Islamic period of Iran, an attempt is made to identify parts of the attitude of Iranian sages towards light that can become the philosophical support of the presence of light. They are mentioned in Iranian architecture.
