Active Matter Levels in the Original and Open Forms of the Veterinary Preparations Containing Oxytetracycline Kept Under Different Storage Conditions

چکیده

The purpose of the study is to evaluate the active matter level of oxytetracycline kept under different storage conditions. Within this scope, the preparations in their original packages and in opened packages have been kept at room temperature, in the dark and in the refrigerator for different periods and they have been analyzed for active matters. For this purpose, 1 preparation containing oxytetracycline (100 mg/ml of active matter), has been examined. 5 each drug with the same serial number for each preparation has been kept under different storage conditions. Initially, active matter quantities have been analyzed after the 3, 6 and 9 months. Quantities have been analyzed by means of HPLC. Besides, considering the life cycles of the drugs, those with open packages have been analyzed in the 24th and 48th hours as well. The data, obtained as a result of analysis have been evaluated quantitatively (ppm and active matter quantity in graphics).
The results obtained from drug A containing oxytetracycline (traditional) and kept under a regular room are given below respectively: (6.14±0.32, 6.50±0.19), (5.58±0.00, 6.38±0.20) and (6.08±0.10, 6.45±0.32) ppm. The results obtained from drug A, kept under the dark and from a newly unwrapped drug, are given below respectively: (6.29±0.27, 6.37±0.34),(5.30±0.04, 6.30±0.17) and (5.97±0.13, 5.86±0.06) ppm. The results obtained from drug A, kept in the refrigerator and from a newly unwrapped drug, are given below respectively: (7.55±0.15, 7.48±0.11), (5.36±0.05, 5.81±0.20) and (6.06±0.36, 5.72±0.07) ppm. The obtained results showed that Some important external factors affecting drug stability are: heat, light, humidity, and oxygen. Internal factors might include: internal reaction of the active ingredient, preservatives and active ingredient solvents all these factors affect the drug’s half-life.
