چکیده | ||
In the present study, vermiculite/aluminum oxide nanocomposite adsorbent was affected by ultrasound waves by gel degradation method. The ability to absorb nitrate ions from aqueous solutions was evaluated by this adsorbent. First, the adsorbent was prepared and characterized, that SEM, XRD, FTIR and BET analyzes were used for characterization and then discontinuous absorption experiments were performed to remove nitrate ions from the synthetic solution. The effect of various factors such as initial concentration, pH, amount of adsorbent, contact time and temperature on the adsorption process was evaluated. Kinetic models were used to test the experimental data in order to show the adsorption mechanism and process rate control steps such as mass transfer and chemical reactions. The results indicate that the Longmire isotherm model and pseudo-second order kinetics agree with the nitrate ion adsorption data by the adsorbent. Thermodynamic analysis indicates that the absorption process is endothermic and spontaneous. The results showed that the above adsorbent can be introduced as a suitable adsorbent for removing nitrate ions from aqueous solutions. | ||
